I find it annoying but amusing how people on MyYearbook (MYB) can be immature, selfish jerks for no apparant reason. I say this because the years I spend on this site has showed me how disgusting and immature people can become. But the perverts on that site is a different story. Today I will be talking about how people will judge you because you do not post any real photos of yourself for them to see.
First off let me explain why I do not post any real pictures of myself on that site. The site only has one privacy setting where you set your profile to private, which I don't use since I do not mind people looking at my profile. There isn't anything there to be ashamed about and it's vague enough where stalkers can't locate me. They do not have a privacy concerning the photos so any stranger can see and comment on it. Mind you this whole site has many perverts and I refuse to be hassled by random jerks not leaving me alone, and i've seen many others get hassled by being called "ugly" or hit upon. I do NOT want that, so I refuse to post a real photo of myself unless they have a setting where I can have only my freinds viewing my photos.
Well since I only have photos of anime or things I like, couple of people (mostly guys) take it to be jerks to me. So far I've counted least eight people who been jerks to me, not to mention these are strangers who don't even know me acting this way. I know that's a low number, but think about when I do post a photo how many more jerks will hassle me over a photo. I rather take the immaturity of jerks wanting to see me than those that do. Simply, I rather be hated for being paranoid than having bunch of pervs who won't leave me be.
I truly don't understand why it's such a big deal to have a picture, what's the harm not having one? I've been called a "anime freak", "childish" "immature", "coward", and couple other things by these jerks. I don't even know these people, never even talked to them and they demand for me to put a picture of myself up! How wrong is that? I see it as shallow for them to do that and makes me think they are just perverts. Because why else would random strangers demand a picture from another stranger? I'm not harming anybody by only having anime pictures up, and I'm always nice to others, so why must people be that way?
Like today for example, someone posted "ask me questions!" on the Live Feed so I sent him a question askign what music he likes. It was a simple and nice question, but he just answered "I would like to know who I'm answering this to." which was strange cause I wasn't anonymous, so i replyed "I'm katherine, just a person browsing the live feed and seen your requst for a question so i asked one =)" then the guy says "you have no pic" like it's a bad thing. I answered and the last he replyed was "good for you. bye." after i explained to why I have no pic. Like what the hell? It was just a question about music, why do you need to see my picture when you can jsut read my profile? It wasn't like I was I wanted to talk to the guy, it was a simple innocent question and yet I get shunned for not having a picture.
Then a week ago, I posted "I feel invisible..." talking about how lonely I felt at school. Well this jerk comes in and posts "That's because you WANT to feel invisible by not posting a true photo of yourself. you may get mad but it's a fact." Again what the hell? Then months ago I had this random guy post a question saying "Stop being child and put a pic up" and that's not counting the other guy who commented that same day saying "post a pic". Then two years ago I had this unknown person ask a question insulting me cause I had no picture. Also I read a girl's post on the Live Feed saying she hates people without pictures of themselves though it wasn't directed at me since she was talking about someone using a picture of a car as a picture.
What the fuck is people's problem on that site? That's the ONLY site I noticed it's a crime to not have a picture up. Why is it such a crime? I'm sorry but I refuse to put up a picture to please a bunch of strangers who don't know how to grow up. So what if I don't have a pic? It's not harming you so why should you care? Maybe focus on someone's personality than what they look like. So freakin annoying. However, thankfully I have found few people on there that are very nice and that i've became friends with, so that's why I keep returning.
