Why can't we Coexist?

Before I begin let me remind everyone that this is MY opinions in MY blog so no flaming is allowed. First off religion is a touchy subject and everyone believes in different things wether you are a Christian, Jewish, Catholic, Atheist, etc. it doesn't matter because we all live within this world and we need to learn to accept each other regardless of how we believe. You believe what you want and let me believe what I want. Now this is my opinion and my rant regarding religion so don't get upset if it is different than what you believe. I would like to say I was raised on Christian beliefs but I consider myself an Agnostic (someone who does not reject nor accept the existance of God. There is no facts to prove or disprove the existance.) meaning I believe in a higher power but I'm still searching for answers.

One major issue I have in religion is, what i stated in the very beginning, when people start bashing each other and forcing their beliefs on to another just because they don't believe a certain thing. I'm talking about all sides, religious and non-religious people here. Stop with trying to force YOUR belief onto others because it's wrong. Yes, there are stories within religious texts (The Bible, Koran, etc.) that may be false, but that gives you no right to try to prove God doesn't exits just because you don't believe in God. Yes, there could be truth to the existance of a God but again that gives you no right to make someone believe in God. As long as the people, regardless of their religion, is living a good life then who cares what they believe? I'm sick and tired of seeing people arguing over religion where ever I go and those arguments become brutal. Agree to disagree and move on with your life. Why would you want to take someone's faith away from them? Why would you want to force your faith onto a person who is happy with their life? If you dont' want someone forcing their beliefs onto you then don't force yours onto them regardless of how "right' you think they are. This concerns everybody! Atheists and religious people need to stop this endless war of who's "correct" in the existance of God because it's pointless.

With that previous paraghraph being said this next part is MY opinion and I'm not forcing anyone to change their ways but I really need to rant because what's next is things that annoy me.

I was reading something on FB about a random person doing something generous for a complete stranger, and in the comments section I noticed many people saying "God was guiding that man" or "Jesus touched that man!" and it irked me a bit then I came across a comment that made sense that said something on the lines of "Why is it when a person is good it's God's work but when a person does something bad it's humanity's fault? Why can't there be only a good person?" Why is that? I then seen another comment replying to the previous saying God is all good. But regardless of how good God may be isn't it our decisions to be good or bad? It comes to a contradiction sense they say if you are good then you will be "rewarded" but how can we get "rewarded" if it's God who's doing our actions for us? Blah blah blah we all know about the contradictions and there's too many questions not enough answers so I will end that there, but what irks me is not the contradition but the fact that people always assume God is making your descisions for you. I don't agree with that and I strongly believe you are the master of your choices regardless of what it may be. We have both evil and good within us but it's our descision to pick which one to follow. Yeah, God is good and "infuences people' but it's still YOUR choice to do good deeds. It doesn't matter what you believe cause you are the controler of your actions. No one or force controls you.

That force also implies to the devil regarding the evil deeds taht people do. Again, I don't believe the devil makes you do evil deeds, nor do I believe God makes you do good deeds. The deeds are your choice regardless of what you choose. To be totally honest, I don't believe in the devil. I know the story behind him from what I hear around me and what people tell. I haven't finished the bible (I'm still reading the old testiment) and I haven't came across Lucifer's story yet, but there is no devil in the Old Testiment as I have read so far (which isn't that far to be honest). Remember, I am agnostic so I don't believe every single religious thing I see or hear, and this part of religion I don't believe in. I'm sorry but I do not believe in a devil. I do believe in demons to an extent such as evil spirits but those are rare. Honestly, I think the concept of a devil is an excuse for someone's evil deeds because they can't take responsibility for their bad actions. Again, YOU make YOUR own actions and implying that some force influences you is just an excuse to me.

Another thing that irks me is whenever something happens wether it's a cold a person has or whatever they always want people to "pray" for them. People seem to always want prayers for anything that happens to them. I understand praying is part of someone's faith and it is a comfort when something bad happens and you want others to help you through it, but the only time I think it's appropiate for prayers is when something is life threatning such as a family member being hospitilized, huge damage such as wrecks, floods, etc., and just very hardships that zaps your mental strength. I find it annoying when people ask for prayers over simple things such as a mere cold because that's like saying you are helpless. I'm not saying you don't deserve sympathy from others because being sick or something of that nature does make you miserable, but asking for a prayer? That's taking it too far, and defiantly when some people don't pray. I'm not ashamed but I don't pray because I don't see the point unless it's life threatning. In my whole life I only prayed about three times and those were three people were hospitilized for being very ill (one was prostate cancer, very bad omonia (sp?), and i can't remember the other) . I have also prayed for someone's safety. Yes, I understand why people pray everynight and being thankful to their higher power for what they have. That's fine with me, but please don't force me to. I am very thankful and blessed for all that I have but I don't need to voice it every day of every time to a higher power. I am thankful and I know I am thankful so that is all I need.

This one has to do with the you-choose-your-own-choice rant in previous paraghraphs but a bit different. I absolutly cannot stand when people say "God has a plan for you" because I don't believe anything is in the control of my life but me. I do believe things happen for a reason but it's you who can choose what happens next by your actions. Think of it like this: you are given these doors to walk through and it's your descision to which one you go through. that's what I believe. Things do happen for a reason but you make the choice of the door you walk through. So I don't like hearing "God has a plan for you" because that's like saying he is driving you to your destination, and you are powerless which I think is false. I make my choices and refuse to believe some force is making them for me due to some "plan". I don't belive your destiny is written in stone. It's written in the sand and you hold the stick. As I continue to say things happen for a reason but it's up to you to choose which reason you want to have or follow, and that implies your destiny or fate in life.
This next one is a big issue and I know affects many others. Remember what I said about religious and non-religious people focring their believes upon each other? Well this next one falls under that catagory. Again I want to remind everyone I'm agnostic so I don't believe ever single thing what I see or hear regarding religion, which includes stuff from the bible. I firmly DON"T believe someone is going to hell for a particular "sin" that religious people are fond of judging people on. I don't really believe in "sin" either since it's too judgmental and nowadays anything is "sin". I believe in evil deeds such as harming others in any act or form. I don't believe loving your own gender is evil, having sex before marriage (though I frown upon those under 18 having sex), someone not believing in your particular God, and any others that I am forgetting, I do NOT believe those are evil or should be "sins". I only believe if someone harms another should be considered evil because you are purposly harming someone for your own benefit. I believe as long as you are a good person at heart and live the best way you can you should never be considered "evil" or "damned to hell". Anyone that says otherwise is wrong and a hypocrite for does it not say "those without sin may cast the first stone"? And since every one "sins" then you have no right to judge. Do NOT force your beliefs on another!

Well, I will end this rant here because it is getting long and I don't have anymore particular rants at the moment. There are plenty more but I cannot remember them all at this moment. I know this post may offend people but again this is my opinions and things that irk me. I am not a religious person but I do believe that a higher power is out there somewhere regardless of what it may be. I believe we have good and evil within us but we are in full control of which we choose to do. I believe we all should respect each other and stop trying to force our beliefs on another. I believe if we are good hearted and do good deeds then we should not be judged wrongly due to a "sin" that does not harm anyone. I believe there has to be something more after death regardless of what it is. I believe prayer isn't necissary unless it's a life-death situation that has you very worried about something. And I believe that we all can coexist without people hating oen another because their beliefs are different. Live and let live, and respect one another. We do only get one life, so why do we spend it hating on the differnet religions because it's differnet? I am agnostic for a reason and that reason is because I have more questions than answers. I am happy being agnostic so please don't change me because you don't like it. My family is Christains, I have religious and Atheists friends, and I am informed of majority of religious beliefs so I don't think i'm just some girl who don't know what she is talking about, because I assure you I know exactly what I'm saying. I have seen both sides of the religious "war" and both sides are neither right or wrong so quit arguing and accept each other already.
